Honda Fuel-Cell Cars by 2018?

In a recent interview with Takeo Fukui, he expects that a fuel-cell car possibly the FCX to be on sale by 2018. Nissan is reporting a fuel-cell car also to be on sale but in the early 2010s. The new Honda FCX is going real-world testing in 2008 but why wait a decade? The long timeline is due to the fact that production and storage of hydrogen are still a major problem for automakers. Honda's research also showed that they would have to make the fuel-cell car less than $84 000 US to make it palatable to buyers.

I'd like it at $25 000 US please.

More Pics of European Honda CR-V

I actually want this CR-V than the CR-V in North America just because it's more luxurious and sportier. And with those sporty and subtle wheels, it looks great! It's just that it's even more higher priced in the UK compared to N.A. but that's also due to the fact that the Euro CR-V has a ton of more features than the N.A. CR-V.

2008 Refreshed/Redesigned Honda/Acura Models

2008 Acura:

RL: The RL will be refreshed in 2008. What would you like to be changed for the refreshed version? The rear Bangle-Butt, a larger interior, a Type-S version or a V8??? What do you think?

2008 Honda:

Accord: The Accord will be completely redesigned in 2008. What would you like to have in the next Accord? A sportier engine, digital speedo, a 4-cylinder Hybrid or maybe hatchbacks and wagons??? What do you think?

Element: The Element will be completely redesigned in 2008 but there are rumours that Honda will no longer produce the Element because of low sales. What would you like the have in the next Element? A carried-over design from the new 2007 Honda Crossroad, more rugged and have the ability to climb hills and mountains, a V6 or 4 conventional doors??? What do you think?

Odyssey: The Odyssey will be refreshed in 2008. There will be a rumoured new transmission for the Odyssey. I have also speaked to a representative of Honda and he/she spoke of that there would be a new engine in the Odyssey in 2008, most likely from the TL and horsepower of around 270 hp. What would you like to have changed in the Odyssey? A better front end, no more wrap-around tail-lights, folding 2nd row seats or a rumoured V6 diesel engine??? What do you think?

Pilot: The Pilot will be redesigned in 2008. There are rumours that it will look very close to its cousin, the new Acura MDX. What would you like to have in the next Pilot? A V6 diesel engine, a V8, rugged capability/more towing capacity or a extended version to accomodate 8 people more comfortably??? What do you think?

It's Official (Plus these pics are December/January Photo of the Month)

The white box-like mystery SUV that I posted on this blog a few weeks ago has been confirmed that it is the next-generation Honda Crossroad. Now after reviewing the specs of this vehicle, it is still smaller than the CR-V so it might have been intended to replace the HR-V. This new Crossroad will debut in Feburary 2007 and will be first sold in Japan. Not sure whether or not it will be sold in Europe as well. Prices start from 2 million to 2.8 million yuen in Japan.

IN A RELATED STORY: You may remember that Honda did actually produce another JDM-only SUV named the Crossroad but that was based on the LandRover Discovery.

More Old Honda Pics

Another look back at the history of Honda cars in Japan.

2008 US Honda Accord and Euro Honda Accord/Acura TSX

First, the 2008 US Honda Accord, provided by Mark Stehrenberger. The next Accord is expected to have some Civic cues and a more powerful V6 engine but a similar if not the same 4-cylinder engine. The Accord Hybrid is expected to debut one year after the Accord Coupe and Sedan debut in 2009.

Second, this is just a small insight into the next Acura TSX. The first picture is the Acura Sports 4 Concept that was unveiled in 2005 and provided some cues for the next Acura TSX/Euro Honda Accord. The second picture is just a photoshop on how might the next Acura TSX/Euro Honda Accord may look like.

Last round of Honda Dog pics!!!

That's enough of Honda Dog pics for now.

Here comes a lot more Honda Dogs!!!!!

Got enough of Honda Dog pics yet???
If you actually take of all these pics in stride, you can find out and see all different kinds of dogs.

Honda Dog (???)

No idea why dogs are standing by these Japanese Honda vehicles. But it's funny enough Honda has a site on how to keep your pets comfy in a Japanese Honda.
Enjoy!

All-New Japanese Honda Elysion Prestige

I just can't say what I think. The 2007 Honda Elysion Prestige.
Why does Prestige look like so old??? It looks like the Elysion stepped back to the early 90s.
Not what I can see tasteful.
Do you like it or hate it?

All-New Japanese Honda Elysion

So there you go. The 2007 Honda Elysion.
It is just a basic re-fresh. It looks like the Elysion will probably get a full redesign by the end of the decade.

Acura and Honda News

The Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept will be shown in NAIAS next year and will provide a glimpse of the next Acura NSX.
In other news...
Takeo Fukui, CEO of Honda Motors, is reported by Automotive News and here is some of what he said about future Acura and Honda motors or current situations.
- No Fit Hybrid because it is unnecessary but a Honda Hybrid model will be produced by the end of this decade but it is not related to the Fit.
- Says that "Acura sales are still struggling."
- Concedes that the RL fell short of their expectations
- Possibility of more turbos in both Acura and Honda's lineups in the future
- Two diesels are headed to North America, one a 4-cylinder and one a V6. The larger diesel may be fitted into the MDX, Pilot, Odyssey and the Ridgeline
- There is a possibility that the Euro Civic may make its appearance on our shores, maybe even Japan's shores if the exchange rates become more and more favorable.

Next Honda Element, Mobilio??? (Updated: Honda's new Crossroad)

Just received these by e-mail.
It looks a lot like the future Element from the side, it evokes the HR-V from the rear but it looks like a current JDM Mobilio on the front. It is quite easy to figure out why this is Honda because of the logo. So what do you think??? It is JDM, not American or European. I believe this picture was taken in California where many JDM Honda vehicles are shot. I have lots of earlier pics of JDM Hondas where the front license plate says "California".
Again, what do you think?
UPDATE: This cube-like SUV has been confirmed that it is the next-generation Honda Crossroad destined for Japan.

New Japanese Honda Edix/FR-V

Not an entirely new model nor a re-fresh but just a new model with a new front-end that is exclusive to the pictured model.

New Japanese Honda Elysion

The new Elysion will debut on December 21, 2006.
I doubt it will be a full redesign, mostly likely a re-fresh as it looks from the picture I have provided.

Honda Accord

The 2007 Honda Accord is again Car and Driver's 10 Best Cars for 2007!

It has received the award 21 times in the last 25 years that Car and Driver has been doing the 10 Best Cars.

In other news...

The 2008 Honda Accord Coupe Concept that will debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January, 2007 will show us what the next generation Honda Accord Coupe will mostly look like. Compared to other concepts Honda has shown us in before, expect this concept (in person, not in drawing) will be at least 85-90% accurate. Rumour has it that there will be a turbo in the 2008 Honda Accord and a turbo in the Honda Accord Concept for next month but Honda supplies that only the concept will have a turbo.

Acura V8???

The President of Honda R&D Americas. INC mentioned today on Automotive News' website that V8 may be a possibility but the V10 will be CERTAIN.

There may be something about V8 or V10 popping up at the Detroit Auto Show in January next year.

Acura is expected to have a V8 sometime in the next five years. Hopefully, sooner.

The V10 will debut in the new Acura NSX in a few years. However, the V8 may just have a chance in production and pop up in the RL in the future. But hey, Honda's considering a V8 too.
